accessible for all

Paleis Het Loo is closed

Due to the Renewal & Renovation.

Museum Paleis Het Loo makes every effort to be accessible for everyone. We advise you to read the information below to be well prepared to enjoy your visit. We wish you a pleasant visit!

What can you visit?

For visitors using a wheelchair the gardens of Paleis Het Loo are only accessible by shuttle bus with wheelchair lift. Due to the limited capacity of the shuttle, you may have to wait a while before the shuttle to the gardens is available. The Stables Square and restaurant are easily accessible. The gardens are difficult due to gravel paths, gangways make the various levels accessible.

  • Paleis Het Loo is accessible to wheelchairs and walkers but it is not wheelchair-friendly because of the presence of gravel paths in the gardens.
  • Persons accompanying individual disabled visitors pay the regular admission fee. Those accompanying groups from care institutions are admitted free of charge. Applications should be sent to  at least three working days prior to your visit.
  • The distances on the premises of Paleis Het Loo are considerable. We would advise you to take plenty of time for your visit and avoid national holidays. Choose quiet moments such as Tuesdays, Fridays and mornings.
  • Paleis Het Loo offers a shuttle service between the entrance building and the gardens (day ticket €1 per person, room for a maximum of eight). Transport of wheelchairs/walkers is possible upon request.
  • There are toilets for visitors with a disability.
  • Visitors with disabilities will be unable to take part in the regular guided tours outdoors. The alternative is a talk that can be given from a fixed point in the gardens.
  • There are parking places for disabled visitors in the general car park (Amersfoortseweg).
  • The walk from the ticket office at the main entrance to the ticket check at the palace takes about eight minutes.
  • Guide dogs are admitted.
  • Wheelchairs can be borrowed at the ticket office upon displaying an identity card. They cannot be reserved.
