Paleis Het Loo visitors can walk the 'Orange Trail' starting at the end of the Baroque Dutch garden. This walk partly leads through the Palace park. The Orange Trail takes you along the ponds, various pavilions and royal Boathouses.

Life at court

Life at court did not only take place in the palace but also in the gardens and the palace park, where the Oranges would walk and seek diversion on and round the ponds. In the early 19th century, the park was replanted. From then it reflected the English example for romantic landscape parks, with winding paths and many different varieties of trees. The park is in sharp contrast with the constructed 17th century palace gardens that are strictly symmetrical. This Orange trail leads you past noteworthy spots in this beautiful park.
