The Stables Square is open until 17 November, and from 7 December until 5 January 2020. The palace is closed until 2021 due to renovation.

Ice Skating at Stables Square

All winter activities are on the Stables Square including an ice rink! Glide the whole ice rink or use a Penguin to learn how to skate. There are several children's activities, such as the Children's Studio as a nice winter bonus!

Practical information

Borrowing skates is free of charge! For sizes 20 to 28 we offer adjustable children's skates (double runners), regular skates are available from sizes 29 to 46. Skating aids such as the Penguin, for learning how to skate, are limited.

Opening hours

Opening hours from 10 am - 5 pm. Also open on Monday 23rd and Monday 30th December 2019.
Please note that the gardens and restaurant Ballroom are closed during Winterpaleis Het Loo.

Holidays
Open on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Closed on New Year's Day.

Crowdedness

From 17 to 21 December we are welcoming a number of schools which can cause a crowd on the ice rink.

All vistitors on the Stables Square need a valid ticket to Paleis Het Loo.

Good to know

  • Ice skating at own risk, there is no supervision
  • Small children always have priority!
  • Gloves required
  • It is not allowed to enter the ice rink with Norwegian skates, normal shoes or ice hockey sticks.
