Daniel Libeskind designs sculptures for the gardens of Paleis Het Loo

Beginning in spring of 2019, Paleis Het Loo will exhibit four monumental contemporary art works in its gardens, designed by the Polish-American architect Daniel Libeskind. Libeskind is renowned throughout the world for his spectacular architecture and urban designs. His work in the palace gardens brings together his talents as architect, designer and artist.

modern art

It’s the first time that modern art will be on show in the gardens of Paleis Het Loo. For the installation, Libeskind lends an architectural interpretation to the baroque garden and creates a dialogue between the historic garden and a contemporary language. The presentation is part of Paleis Het Loo Open but not as usual and will be on show in the gardens from April until September for several years.

Studio Libeskind

Studio Libeskind in New York is an international architectural practice known for the design of museums and other cultural and public buildings throughout the world,  including the Jewish Museum Berlin and the master plan for the reconstruction of the World Trade Center in New York. Daniel Libeskind is also designer of the Dutch Holocaust Memorial of Names in Amsterdam, which will be realised in 2019. He has held a large number of chairs, including one at the University of Toronto and has received many prizes for his work.

The sculptures of Daniel Libeskind will be produced by Volumina in Turin (I).
